What is a good looking and cheap running car for a 17 year old british man hoping to pass soon?

i would prefer a hatchback but dont actually mind lol...need it too look good, be cheap to run and cheap on insurance

Astra diesel is cheap group4 insurance and cheap to run i wouldn't spend more than £500 on first motor

VW's are pretty reliable, you can pick up an old polo for dirt cheap these days.

Your better off to stick with anything under a 1.4 for a first car - the insurance will be cheaper.

Insurance premiums is what will decide it for you. Corsa 1.0 is about all you will manage for the 1st year.

I think Renault Clios, Citroen Saxos and Vauxhall corsas all look fairly decent and should be pretty reliable.

17 years old and male, well any car is going to be quite expensive to insure, but don't just think of the usual small cars (fiesta, corsa etc) go on to some insurence sites and get quotes for larger cars that are not very popular with people your age, you can end up paying less for a larger, more powerful car because it's less popular.
