What is a good major to pick if i am interested in culture of all people?

i like to watch the tv show Taboo and others shows on how and why people act certain ways.

  1. It can kind of depend on how you want to look at it. Sociology, Anthropology, and history (along with other disciplines) can all shed certain lights on culture.

    I think from the few episodes of Taboo ive seen, if thats what interests you the most, Anthropology might be a best choice. If you have the oppertunity, try talking to people who are involved in each of the fields, and see if you find anything interesting.


  2. I would say, if you like culture of different people groups then you should major in Anthropology because that's what they do. An Anthropologists job is to discover the past and how different people groups. They're the ones that discovered where different Native American groups lived, how they acted and what different objects purposes would have been.

    People tend to mix up the purpose of historians verses anthropologists. Anthropologists study the movement and cultures of people groups. Historians look and interpret the past.

  3. Cultural Anthropology. Period. (Comparative Literature is along those lines also)

  4. international studies, maybe history
