What is a good mall in Paris, France?

I've been searching for a mall in Paris, France, but am getting little information. Does anyone know, from personal eperience, where a really nice, cool mall is in Paris?

Galleries Lafayette is the only mall i can think of. France is generally mostly small custom shops. Also if your looking for brand names The Champs D'Elysses is a famous street in Paris for Louis Vuitton etc.

In the golden and less golden suburbs of Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Toulouse etc you'll find huge commercial areas with huge parkings, with all possible goods on wide scale - eg DIY, gardenning, + of course food on scales which do not exist in the US

and furthermore combined with this what they call "galeries commerciales " for things like clothes, shoes, leather, optics, bookshops, presents,  pets etc

Forum des Halles is one of the worst places to visit, unless you like to hang out with dodgy people/drunks/drug dealers. Try the mall at La Defense, it's huge and the quality of shops is better. Get there by taking line 1 to La Defense. It's the last stop.

In addition to things like the ever-popular galleries lafayette and the stores above the metro stop 'chatelet les halles', there is a huge store in Paris (and France in general) called "Carrefour".  It's kind of like the French Super Wal-Mart, but even better.  You can get a ton of shopping done there....

...I know there was also a full, legit shopping mall just outside of mitry-mory that even had a carrefour in it (zone 5, rer B to the east, Ile-de-france...about 20 minute outside of the city proper) when I was living there...

Regardless, you're not going to have a hard time finding things to buy there, trust me!

Well, your best bet is probably Galleries Lafayette. It's been around for a long time -- I believe it was built in the late 19th century -- and is really more of a high-end department store, but it has a wonderful selection of... well... everything, really. Check it out!

The only equivalent to an american style mall in France I know of is the Part Dieu shopping center in Lyon. (It's enormous and fantastic!).

Paris has Centres Commerciales, mostly on the outskirts and in the suburbs, usually built around a hipermarket such as Carrefour, Auchan, Leclerc or Casino.

You will also find Galleries Marchandes in different parts of the city...

Carrousel du Louvre has a number of shops including Sephora, Lalique, Resonances, and others.  

Forum des Halles, has lots of shops, including FNAC.  Lots of young people seem to hang out there, just like the malls in the USA.

you can find a lot of stores like  Fashionable, C&A, Zara, Etam, Sephora, Boss,

Paris is rather known with Fashion like Prada, Chanel, Dior, Fendi, Ungaro, Louis Vuitton, Armani, you can find it Avenue Montaigne,

Les Halles, a lot of shops cool and trendy.
