  1. Meditation is NOT the key to facilitate an OBE. OBEs happen some times during meditation.

    byr the ket to getting out of the body is a multi-step process.

    1 get as comfortable and relaxed as possible.

    2. listen for the nada (a sound and vibrational current near the right ear. When you hear the nada (usually a soft hiss or whistle) focus all of your attention on the nada, and the sound will become louder and louder untill it seems to be loud as thunder. When all you feel and hear is the vibration and the sound you are rady for step 3.

    3. Think of the place you want to go. If you are able to let go of the fear, and you have been fully detatched from the body; this will initiate an OBE.

  2. Here is an easy shortcut, if you want.

    s***w up your sleeping patterns. Nap, but not more than twice a week, on odd days. Stay up all night once in awhile and nap the next afternoon.

    Nap on your back, it seems to work best that way.

    Eventually, and probably not long, your body will put you into other states of mind. You will experience things that you cant even imagine. OBEs, spiritual beings will harass you, you will hear people talking to you.

    Good luck

  3. agree with the previous answer,they  are helpful

  4. sensory deprivation tecnique works the best. Also some spas have isolation tanks that let you not feel your body and these two help tremendously

    the 5 tecniques are:

    # a) wall-standing: forcing the detainees to remain for periods of some hours in a "stress position", described by those who underwent it as being "spreadeagled against the wall, with their fingers put high above the head against the wall, the legs spread apart and the feet back, causing them to stand on their toes with the weight of the body mainly on the fingers";

    # (b) hooding: putting a black or navy coloured bag over the detainees' heads and, at least initially, keeping it there all the time except during interrogation;

    # (c) subjection to noise: pending their interrogations, holding the detainees in a room where there was a continuous loud and hissing noise;

    # (d) deprivation of sleep: pending their interrogations, depriving the detainees of sleep;

    # (e) deprivation of food and drink: subjecting the detainees to a reduced diet during their stay at the centre and pending interrogations.

  5. Fountain Meditation: In this method of meditation you must be sitting in an upright position comfortably. You are to imagine that there is a waterfall flowing within you, circling around your body, starting at the top and falling down your right side and then back up the left side. I find that music is good to do this by as it helps create the calm and 'flowing' mood and atmosphere that you want for this. As you continue to do this you may feel your body becoming more lose and sometimes it may seem as though your head is stretching high above you neck as I have experienced before! Nothing to be worried about though, its just a possible sign that you are doing it correctly.

    Ladder Meditation: This method brings you into a trance and so should not be dealt with lightly. This technique has your breathing take a big part in achieving this trance state. You are to visualize yourself at the top of this incredibly tall ladder, surrounded by darkness so you can concentrate solely on the ladder. Some experts say its best to imagine yourself in total darkness unable to see anything and to only feel the ladder. This can be a lot more difficult though so to begin with I suggest you visualize the ladder lit up in the darkness. Now as you breathe in, you are to 'hold onto the ladder' and as you exhale you 'take a step down' the ladder. So every time you inhale you stay motionless and when you exhale you move down the ladder. As you do this you start to fall into a different state of consciousness, a trance and being in this state can make OBEs much easier to achieve.

    To have a successful projection you require to be in an altered state of consciousness. You want to be relaxed enough that your physical body falls asleep but your mind stays conscious and alert. Meditation is good for helping acheive this state of mind, as you learn how to relax your body and focus your mind at the same time. Once you have become successful at meditation, astral projection tends to become much easier. When trying to relax imagining things descending like numbers going down, or going down in the colour spectrum, or walking down a flight of stairs and focusing on your breathing can help too, the going down a ladder technique is good for achieving this state.

  6. None of the above methods will give you an OBE.  You are never O of your B.  But as you might guess from some of these descriptions, one might experience some form of psychotic delusion.  I don't think that's what you were looking for.

      So since you can never leave your body, the closest you can come is through dreaming.  Yes, sleep is the easiest way to have the experience.  But still, it is just an illusion and you can't control when you might have such a dream.

       Experiments have been done with people who claimed they could do this.  The one who was supposed to be so good at it, (can't remember name), was supposed to read something that was put out of sight, when she slept.  In a manner typical of this kind of "research," the target paper was on a shelf right above her, that she could reach by standing on the bed.

       Yeah, she was all wired up.  So what?  That's just to make it look scientific.  And there was a window where someone was *supposed* to be watching her for the several hours that this took.  No TV camera in the room.  Hmmm.  That would seem necessary.

       Voila!  She woke up and gave the correct information!  The researcher published the success.  When asked for the woman's address, so that skeptical investigatiors could try to replicate the test, they were told she just disappeared.  No one knew where she was.  How convenient!
