What is a good mic for music singing for a mac?

Im wondering what is the best microphone i can buy for a mac book to add my singing to my music(using garage band) i want a good quality mic that's not too expensive anyone know of any?

  1. You can use a Shure SM57 or SM58, or an AKG1000.  These are about $150 bucks each.  You'll need a preamp with XLR inputs for the mic, or at least a line transformer to convert between Low-z to High-Z inputs.  The Griffin iMic is pretty good for this at about $35.  

    I use Garageband with an AKG1000 and use a MOTU Traveler firewire interface for the inputs.  This hardware handles 4 microphones and 8 high-level inputs and costs about a grand.  It's really great!  I used to use Cubase before Garageband came out, and I will be upgrading to Logic pretty soon.
