What is a good morning alt. driving route eastbound into Los Angeles?

I'm in Pomona, so I can either take the I-10 or the US60, but it seems that in the morning both freeways become a parking lot. If I leave 10 min later than 6:15, i get to Los Angeles 20 min later. What's a good street alternative?

Why don't you take Metrolink? Wouldn't you rather read, sleep, work, etc.. than worry about a car? It's an increase in your quality of life, seriously!

LA traffic is miserable.  My best advice is go into work early and  leave early.  If that is not possible find a gym or coffee shop near work to go beforehand.  I can leave home at 630 and be at work in 30 minutes or leave at 730 and get there by 845.  Traffic in this town is miserable.... the 10 east is backed up sometimes even at 645 am!  LA traffic stinks!

take valley to eastern into soto to your destanation

if you travel eastbound from Pomona you will not end up

in LA but San Bernardino!  as Pomona is already east of Los Angeles!

(you need go west to get into LA)

you might try the 210 to Pasadena, then change to the 110

(this is a just a guess since I dont drive)

I use public transit so Metrolink is an option as well

as the Foothill transit silver streak service into Los Angeles

The only way to get from Pomona to LA during rush hour is to take Metrolink.  All the freeways and surface streets are going to be jammed.
