  1. you might try a suzuki gsx-r 600. I myself would recommend this!

hope you find what your looking for!

  2. You have to narrow it down a bit first.  Do you like sport bikes, cruisers, dual-sport, touring, dirt bike, standard, or commuter scooter type bikes?  Then you might get some recommendations that mean something.

  3. 2008 Ninja 250R, 2008 Hyosung GT250R.

If you want more try the Ninja 500R, Ninja 650R, Suzuki SV650S, Suzuki GSX650F, ZZR600, CBR600F4i.

When I say "try" I mean ask a salesguy and sit on the bike to get the feel and weight.

Don't get a Sportster, they're overpriced for what you get and top heavy-not something a new rider is looking for when doing low speed manuevers in a parking lot.

  4. Before you do anything else, you might want to contact the Motorcycle Safety Foundation, and take a new rider course.

It's so easy to get so creamed - especially for a new rider.

They could probably help with deciding what's a good beginner bike.

  5. Stu Gatzsa

  6. What kind of riding do you expect to do?

Most first timer bikes are cruiser style or standards similar to these:

Honda Rebel 250, Honda Shadow 600, Nighthawk CB250

    Kawasaki Vulcan 500,

    Suzuki S40 or S50 or the GZ250

    Yamaha Vstar 250 or Custom.

All of these are good first time bikes for various reasons. For the one best for you well...You have to "try them on for size" at your local dealership to see which one fits you the best.

The ones I have mentioned above get great gas mileage.

  7. If your a 120lb chick, ninja 250. If your heavier, ninja 500. They can be both found for under $1500 with a few scratches.
