  1. rug doctor is a good shampoo for your carpet cleaner.or use plane vinegar instead of the shampoo and your carpets will come out beautiful and also smell clean.

  2. I like Woolite Oxy. It's gentle, uses oxygen (kinda like peroxide) as a second cleaning agent, smells nice, and really cleans well.

  3. we have a spray bottle of carpet cleaner works sooooooo good. it removes evry stain from my car or our whiteish gray carpet. my dad got it from Folex.com

  4. Actually in the sense of cleaning carpet, STEAM is a better way to go than shampooers. Even "Bonneting" is better.

The problem isn't in the fact that the vacuum mechanics of the machines aren't effective. The problem is in the water used. What happens, is the water, as it's being applied, no matter how fast it's sucked up, also leaches to the padding. That would especially be true  as the operator changes pace, application methods, etc.

Since the carpet fibers and base mat of the carpet will dry before the padding under, any stains, moistened, that have gone into the padding, will leach back up into the carpet fiber.

Steam essentially doesn't SOAK a carpet, but can loosen residue to be vacuumed up. Bonneting is a pad on a buffer that when used with specific cleaners ONLY removes the stains visible

Almost every brand CLEANING AGENT  is created using same or similar chemicals.

While Vinegar may be as close to a miracle as anything on the planet, it isn't something I'd use in excess on carpet.

    Just my two "sense"
