  1. Last Name Acres. That is what mine is. My last name and then Acres after it.

  2. Mane Stream.  (if you have horses),  Sunny Hill..... hmm... if you could give us a bit more info on what you're wanting, we could probably help you more.

  3. BARNEY!

  4. Loft maybe? Barn, barney, Barnum Bailey, I dunno. :)

  5. BOB! no just kidding, it depends on wut ur doing with ur barn, the big b?!

  6. Is there a defining feature on the property like a creek or forest or something? You could name it after that, such as, Little Creek Stables. Don't just come up with a name, have it relate to something.

  7. "that place that horses c**p in and I have to all the work cleaning up after them"

No......thats too long, how about "Animal House" now that was a good movie..

  8. rodriges

    hahaha

  9. Monticello

  10. Your farm name should be a reflection of you. If you limit it to something that is on the farm such as a creek then if you move to another farm where there is not that, then you are stuck with the name and having to explain why it is named that when the closest creek is 15 miles away. That gets old after a while.

The name of my farm is Ace-High. I was very tired of all of the names that I picked being taken by other farms and wanted something that was completely mine where there was no other farm by that name (or at least not one in every town). So one day I picked up a dictionary, threw it up in the air, closed my eyes, and stuck my finger on the page. Ace-High is where it landed. It means "respected for the quality held". Pretty good luck that time thank goodness as it could have landed on anything. The benefits of having an "A" name mean that you are always at the top of the lists for advertising if you are going to have a business which you might want to consider when looking at names.

Since you are looking for specific names, and there are two of you, here are some options that might fit your situation. I have put some Irish ones down since you mentioned something about Celtic Roots:

    Best Friends Farm/Training Center/Equestrian Center/Etc.

Cara Farm/TC/EC/Etc. (Cara is the Irish word for Friend)

Capall Farm/TC/EC/Etc (Capall is the Irish word for Horse)

Fáilte Farm/TC/EC/Etc (fáilte  is the word for welcome)

    Two Friends Farm/TC/EC/Etc

Some other ideas might be if you had a great mascot like a bear, wildcat, etc in high school and want to name it something like Bear Farm or Wildcat Stables. You can incorporate part of your life into it like that without being specific as to where the farm is. I never suggest using a city name or state name in a farm name just in case you have to move.

You want a name that you can use for years and years something that will not have to be changed if things in your life change. Since you are going into this with your friend, then naming it with something with friend in the name is alright because if your friendship dissolves so will the farm anyways. If one of you will plan on having a farm after that point, then you might want to steer clear of the names with friend clearly in them like the Best Friends one.

Good luck with your name search. Always make sure to look up definitions of names that you do not know so that you are sure that they do not have a bad meaning to them in any language.

One last note.... when you use a name like Winning Ways or Clear Round, you better make sure that that is exactly how good you are in the ring. Otherwise your farm name will soon become a joke for others around you in the equestrian world. I have seen this a bunch. It is great to have dreams, but if you are not out there doing what your name says, then you soon become a contradiction.
