We're naming our son Beau Nathaniel Jr.

What's a good nickname that we can call him so as not to confuse daddy and baby?

We don't want Beau Jr. or BJ.

We don't want Beau Beau

We could call him by his middle name, but that is kind of long, so will be shortened down to Nate, which is my step brother's name.. and my husband hates my step brother, so that is not a good option.

I know I will end up just calling him Baby Beau.. but this won't work for everyone, and he will definitely outgrow it.

Any suggestions?

  1. dont name your sonn beau?

what kind of name is that anyways...

  2. You will know what to nickname him when it just hits you. You will just think of a nickname one day and that will be it

I feel that you can't really plan nicknames. And if you do, it kinda ruins it.

I have a 2 year old cousin named Lindsay. I call her Lindsay Bindsy. I don't really know where it came from, it's just what I call her.

You will know. Don't worry ;]

  3. sounds to me like you dont like any part of your sons name, so why name him that?

you cant make any nick name from any of those besides the ones you mentioned and hated.

so my suggestion is come up with a whole different name.

  4. little B

  5. Nathan

    Ben

  6. J-R not said as junior but as two separate letters as in BJ or something

  7. yeah, call him jay.r

it's cute and when you write it down it'll be jr but everyne will knwo its pronounced jay.r

    <3

    its the best option.

  8. how about calling him jr.?

  9. Just call him "Jr".

  10. nathaniek is my middle name i like it alot good choice,  any way you could just call him Dan Jr.

  11. I have to agree, a nickname just comes to you with your children. It's not a planned thing. I call my daughter "Bug". Why & where it came from I don't know. But she is my little "bug". It has nothing to do with her name. She has others but I would rather not post them. Don't worry it will happen. I also have a brother & father with the same name. My brother is the 3rd, he has a nickname that just came about as well. Good luck I hope this helps.

  12. My friend Nathaniel goes by Thane.

  13. Boudreaux -- it's Cajun. Pronounced "BOO-dro"

  14. Little B

    Juinor

    DJ (Daddy Jr.)

idk - kinda hard, but I love the name Beau.

  15. Nathan:)

Well, Did you ever think that "Baby Beau" might like  Beau Nathan or BJ.... He  just may

    Peachy

  16. You can call him...

    Nathan

    Little Beau

    "Junior"

Baby Beau is pretty cool but when he outgrows it, true, he'll need a nickname that sounds more grown up.

    Beaun :)

Hope I helped.  Love, The Extreme Pet Lover :)

  17. BB or Arrow (get it bow)

  18. call him little Nate

    i hope that helps

  19. Those seem like all the options, unless you were going to call him something totally off the wall.  Maybe you should consider a different middle name to call him, or something of that nature.

  20. BB - LB (little beau) Naybe - Beaunay - Bean - the name will come to you as your son grows.  mine ended up being KK - his name is caleb.

  21. why don't you call him Nathan

  22. Ben

    BEau Nathaniel

    xx

  23. Little "B"....but this nickname might hurt him come high school!

  24. In all honesty, if you don't really like the various possibilities for his name based on what you are given, why are you using it?  There is no law that says a firstborn son has to be named "Junior."

How about giving him a name of his own, using Beau as his middle name?

  25. I was going to say Nate until I read the rest of your post. Hmmm...that's a tough one :/ Sorry I'm not more help!

  26. Nate

    J R

    B J

  27. You could:

    1. call him junior

    2. call him natty

    3. call him brody (not really related but really cute)

this is tough. its a really nice name though :) good luck!

  28. My friend had a similar problem and they chose to nickname her son JR (saying it out JayR).  It worked well for them.

  29. Couldn't you just call him Beau on it's own without adding anything? It simple, he wont have the same full name used as his dad and you don't have to use Nate either.

  30. Beau is one of the shortest names out there...just call him by his name

  31. How about just B. ?...

or Bean =)... haha, only because when I look at Beau Nathaniel it looks like it spells BeaN..

I agree with the poster above also, if you cant decide, it will just come to you one day.

I see your dilema, hope these helped a little, good luck =)
