  1. online colleges are for lazy people and employers know that and go with applicants with degrees from traditional credible colleges.

  2. Its difficult for a stranger who has never met you to tell you what is the best college for you to attend either online or on campus. What I would recommend is contacting a bunch of schools to try to find the best fit for you. I would also make sure that any college you are considering is regionally accredited. I think you will find that online programs have grown both in the number of colleges offering them (more colleges are realizing the advantages they provide students and the school) and in respect by potential employers. Additionally many colleges do not indicate whether a degree is obtained online or on campus. This site has some good information on regionally accredited schools for you to contact:

  3. seaerch on google

  4. penn foster and phoenix are the best

  5. I've tried online classes, and they are fun to a certain degree, especially during the cold harsh winters, but its harder than being in a classroom b/c u become easily distracted, and frankly, it's not a good way to prepare for your career, cause there is no one there giving u feedback or  no other students/professor to challenge u.

Some classes or classes that aren't really important for your type of major you are taking, like for example, if your a culinary student taking english, then it would be better to take online, but for your majors classes u definitely should go to school.

  6. university of phoenix

    is excellent

  7. Employers DO consider them legitimate. I have attended University of Phoenix online for two years and have a good job. My employer has hired people with online degrees. My husband also attends UOP online and his employer gave him the idea. Online college is tough and takes much dedication and determination.

If you think your employer will not, one thing you can do is put the universities accreditation information in with your resume.

It is a very new way of obtaining a degree and is scary. However, when you get your diploma it will not say "online" anywhere. The degree from University of Phoenix actually looks like a degree one would get after attending the university on campus.

I absolutely love attending online classes because I am able to set my own hours. The tuition is also cheaper because there are no desks to buy or buildings to keep up! It is also a good idea to have a basic knowledge of Power point, Microsoft word, and forums. I'm not at all saying you don't, but want to give you a heads up.

The downfall is that it is tougher to get questions answered by your instructor. The instructors I have had throughout have always given a phone number and are very good about calling back. You also see your course syllabus when you first start a class and can work ahead. If you see something that you may have issues with on week 6 for example, you can get help and prepare for it in week one.

Also, my academic advisor is awesome at keeping in touch with me.

I am in advertising and communications. I have had no issues with pursueing jobs. My husband is a police officer and is getting his degree so he can be promoted to sergeant.

What I can tell you is to research! Check it all out and call the schools. Most universities offer some sort of online class schedule. I could not ask for a more convenient method. I have three children and work. I am also an author and working on a novel. With this, plus working, distance learning (this is what online university is called) is the best decision I have made.

    GOOD LUCK!!!!!

To the person that said it is not a good way because employers don't look at it; I mean no disrespect, but wanted to show that it can be done and there are employers that accept them willingly. Also, I do agree that there is much skepticism still, but it is beginning to be a more accepted way to get a degree.

    Have a great week!!!!
