  1. 8 dollars.

  2. 12-15 dollars

  3. it depends on the city, unemployment rates in that city and number of restaurants competing for good cooks. Go to yahoo jobs and look at salary surveys.

  4. As a line cook at crappy chain restaurants, you will probably making $8-10 based on experience, the amount of time you work (full time/part time), and the number of other cooks. The area will effect the price too.

If you are a line cook at a restaurant that requires a culinary degree (i.e. a real upscale restaurant) you would make a lot more based on the popularity and rating the restaurant has.

  5. Those aren't upscale restaurants.  Restaurants, in general, whether fine dining or not...  will pay their line cooks anywhere between minimum wage and $3 over minimum wage...   depending on experience.

  6. Olive Garden upscale?? OMG That is too funny. You need to get out more.

They probably pay about 9 bucks an hour.

If you have graduated from a culinary school, then we're talking in the $20's an hour. But that is definately upscale.

Some local restaurants will pay up to $15 an hour with experience. Look around and compare.
