What is a good pay rate for babysitting my 10 year old son?

I have a 10 year old son. On the occasionally Friday or Saturday night, my husband and I like to go out for a few hours, usually 4-5 hours. My son takes care of himself, doesn't need dinner, doesn't need a bath, I do not require any cleaning, ect..., just straight, come on over, hang out and watch tv until the parents get home....What is a acceptable hourly rate to pay someone?

Well, because the babysitter woulden't be doing anything here is my rate chart for this sutuation:

1-2 hours: 3.00-4.00 dollars

2-3 hours: 3.50-4.50 dollars

3-4 hours: 5.00-5.50 dollars

4-5 hours: 6.00-7.00 dollars

5-and over: 8.00-15.00 dollars

16 and under-8 dollars.16-over 10 dollars. dont not pay more because it would be a rip of . im 14 and i babysit for 6 dollars. im red cross certified.

I would say $10 per hour for a good pay because im 15 and people my age are getting that everytime they go baby sit..wheather it be for 3 houres or 10 houres baby sitting is good money lol. i would say for 5 houres give them 40-50 dollars. Hope thiis helps

I would say no less than 20 bucks, gas is killing people right now.

I would pay no more then $6 an hour because all they have to do is make sure your son stays safe. if they had to give a bath and feed him dinner then i would say $8 an hour.

You have to make it worth the babysitter coming over.

Like someone else said gas is expensive!

For about 5 hours, I would give 30-40 dollars depending on the age of the sitter, his or her experience et.al.

I would pay at least min. wage (6ish per hour)

10 year olds are pretty self-sufficient, like how you have described your son. I think 25-30 dollars is more than enough. If it's a younger babysitter, you could probably get away with paying 20 dollars.
