What is a good pet bird?

what is a good pet bird? i want one that is not to pricey and that is not very loud

Love birds.  They're like mini green parrots and are awesome to have.  I got my dad one for father's day and they've been inseparable since then.  They're about 30-40 bucks each which isn't so bad considering the bird is relatively smart and will perch up on your shoulder and just hang out if you teach it to.

I've had both a Grey Parrot and a Blue Fronted Amazon. They are cool birds, but Parrots are very expensive, and they can get loud, but they're probably the coolest type of bird you can get.  

You have to be committed though, because they will probably outlive you.

I guess for bird begginers a budgie would be ok. DO NOT GET BIG BIRDS LIKE LOVEBIRDS OR COCKATIELS. Budgies are small, not expensive, ($20) , and easy to handle. hope i helped.

Personally, I think it is cruel to keep birds in cages, the only bird that adapts to this sort of life is a parrot. They are pricey, but can live for years and years. They can also be loud at times I'll admit, but they are relatively quiet compared to others. They are a great investment. Also, they are the most intelligent and the most affectionate, and often have the best personalities. My opinion- hope it helps!
