I want to know what pets are easy and don't require much care. I know about fish and my son doesn't want a fish. Thank you.

  1. Ok I would suggest a cat, but they cost alot of money for shots and stuff so if thats a no, then a hamster. Rats grow alot and the cage could add up to $200. I have a hamster and its pretty easy. I got a giant pack of bedding which last 2-4 months if you change it weekly. It was about 3 dollars. The cage was 40 dollars but you can get a small wire one for 20 if you only get one hamster. The hamsters are about 10-20 dollars. A five pound bag of food is 8 dollars. I have to pay for the bedding and food and I'm 13, so its pretty affordable.

  2. Nick, there is nothing better than a boy and a beagle.  I know, dogs are a little harder that a fish to care for, but a dog can love him back.  I'm old enough to be his grandfather, and I would be lost without my beagle, Sammy.

  3. cats or dogs

  4. If this is his first pet, I wouldn't get a cat or dog.  I would get a rabbit or guinea pig ect.  Get a miniature type rabbit, then you can keep it inside.  Rabbits when gotten small can make real nice pets.  Get a book at the library and read it and let it help you decide if you want one as a pet.....remember, a rabbit is a 5 - 7 year commitment, dogs, lg 10 years, small dog up to 16 yr commitment , and also needs a lot of training., guinea pigs, several years.

  5. A dogim 13 1/2 and i reallu would like a dog

  6. A rabbit! They are playful, loving and just plain fun! Yet it will be a lot of work to clean up after them! So he might have to be prepare to do a lot of work!

  7. I'd have to say a hedgehog.

    I am 13 and I own one.

    They dont reuire much care.

They are nocturnal and eat cat food.

  8. rats

    hamster

    gerbil

    birds

  9. I think a small bird.  I have one and he is very easy to care for.  All you have to do is,clean his cage daily.  Feed him every few days.  Sometimes  you can even take them out and let them fly around as long as the windows are closed.  But only get ONE bird.  Two or more will drive you off the wall crazy!!!  This is the basic care for a parakeet fyi.  Hope this helps.

  10. I'm 14 And own a dog and 2 rats myself. I think rats are awesome pets. they love people and are great to train. they are like mini dogs.

I have had pet rats since i was about 5 and they are cheap and easy. And if they dont like the thought of a rat try a dumbo rat.

Heres some pics of a dumbo rat.

    They are very affectionate...

But they are best in 2's because they can get lonely unless they receive alot of attention.

Or what about a mini hedge-hog?

  11. ok well fish are very beautiful animals esp. betas which you can get your son to see. I wouldn't suggest a cat or a dog because they do require lots of work. Other animals you can get him could possibly be a hermit crab or even a frog. I would say hermit crab would be too boring though. How eve, frigs are very very fun to watch. Some other ideas would be getting him a bird. You can interact with them more than water animals. Tho the noise may be annoying. Last, there is some type of rodent. Hamster, Ginnie pig, ect... Theese you can hold and interact with almost as much as you do with a cat or dog. I hope my advice helped and good luck! O yes one more thing, you could get him a rabbit. Again good luck!!!!

  12. rats, hamsters etc
