Somewhat new to handguns, I am a lefty looking for a semi-automatic. Can anyone suggest a pistol in 9mm(or comparable) with a slide release/mag release on the right side? It is for target/fun shooting 1st and self-defense 2nd. Of the few guns I have shot, I loved the Sig and liked the XD. Did not like the Kimber(kept jamming at the range).

  2. GLOCKs would be another good choice.  I have one and looks like it would work well for left handed fokes as well as right handed peoples.

  3. You have already tried a few, great. You must give the Glock a try also. All good choices. I'm surprised at the Kimber, they are usually top notch.

  4. S&W's M&P Auto series can be reversed to suit lefties.

Also if your kimber is jamming, it may be that you need to grip the it tighter.

My 1911 did that until someone told me to grip it tighter.  It worked fine after that

  5. I shoot lefty and from experience, I have not had problems with several 1911's, Beretta 92, Sig 225, and the Ruger 22/45.
