  1. Your best bet would be to have an honest and open conversation with your doctor, he would be your best and most up to date source for information and advise.


  2. All you really need to know to avoid HIV, Hepatitis A, etc., is simply that you should avoid exchange of bodily fluids. This includes matters of unprotected s*x, shared needles and handling of biohazardous materials. Aside from that, you should be ok. And don't feel bad for asking. This is an important thing for people to know.
