  1. Letterkenny,Co. Donegal. They come through from the North and in from other counties for the nightlife especially at the weekends.Loads of young people here.

  2. Donegal like person above said..but if you're not into clubs etc, you have the best beaches(walks surfin etc) and just general scenery, drive around the whole county and you'll make your own fun. Good shopping and restaurants in Letterkenny in Donegal too...cinema bowling go karts paintballing etc etc

And if you run out of things to do you can always drive over to Northern Ireland and visit historic and scenic areas there like Derry and Giant's Causeway or just head down the West coast, don't waste all your time in the city!

  3. West Cork-grab yourselves a tent,rent some bikes...its beautiful down there!

  4. I personally have been to Dublin - all over Dublin to specific place;

Dublin has lot's too offer, it's a city full of literary landmarks, from the James Joyce Tower to Trinity College, alma mater of many of Ireland’s greatest writers; and a thriving interest in literature.

When I was in Dublin, the streets of well-stocked stores with gorgeous window displays hinting at even more treats within! Dublin is well endowed with delights for the avid shopper! Explore the lively pedestrian shopping streets at the heart of the city!

If you're kids are into golf, then Dublin is one for you then mate - Dublin is home to over 60 golf courses so whether it’s the challenge of a championship course or the more subtle course for a relaxing game it’s there waiting for you.

Dublin has good prices aswell. If you want to travel then why not arrange to have a hired car waiting for you when you arrive through your travel agent or local office and this is generally recommended during high season

    Thanks, Craig.

  5. Depends on how long you have.

Dublin is a must see city, as its got the great night life as its the capital with lots of things always going ont.

But Galways is equally great as its on the West with beautiful scenery to view during the day.

Or Kilkenny is a great city jut for a night to see the local, and get the spirit of the night. Thats where a lot of my mates go to for weekends away from Dublin!

Just depends how log you have as there was be nothing nicer than to do 2 cities if you have 5days!

  6. Got to be Donegal, some beautiful scenery and beaches. Great food and if you visit the town of letterkenny the nightlife is unreal... there is this looong street with nothing but pubs and clubs. the craic is mighty!

  7. Kerry - Best county in Ireland for scenery, nightlife, things to do, and the craic!

  8. All depends on how long your holiday consists of. Is it a week? 2 weeks? weekend?

If it's for a weekend, Dublin would be your best option.

For anything longer you could take in Dublin / Kerry / Mayo & Galway all together.

Be sure to visit Bull Island in Dublin, just outside of Clontarf easily accessible by bus, also visit Dollymount/Sandymount, the beach/view is wonderful. There is many beautiful places to visit, I dont think you would be disappointed wherever you visit. Go to visitireland.com and you will get better information on different locations. Have a fun time here.

  9. GALWAY! DEFINITLEY, DUBLIN WAY TOO BLOODY EXPENSIVE!

  10. Dublin is one of the best citys I have  visited

  11. Galway.. it is relatively cheap and the people are friendly.  The scenery is also gorgeous there

  12. If you're in good physical condition, try a cycling holiday in the south-west of the country. Otherwise rent a car, as public transport outside of the cities is not that great. Bring lots of money, or find out about campsites ....

I'd definitely recommend the island of Cape Clear for a couple of days in August, it's really great. Just make sure your visit doesn't coincide with the local storytelling festival, as accommodation will be in short supply.

  13. athlone

    dead centre of Ireland

    LOADS of facilities

too many restaurants and pubs lol

2 shopping centres(1 of which brand new and the biggest outside dublin)

    many great shops elsewhere

    nice river

    lovely scenic castle

and there's much more to discover yourself!

but if you go in April, the new hotel is opening up, the Sheraton.

    that'd be a bonus

or just stay in another great hotel or b&b

  14. Without doubt, I'd say Galway.  It's a small yet cosmopolitan city with loads to see and do nearby.  Lovely bars and great nightlife.  Not to be missed !
