Question:

What is a good place to party in Boston with a big group this Friday?

I am gathering together a rather large group of all different types this weekend, including some from out of town and I want to take them someplace in Boston Friday night.

I want to take everyone to a place that is comfortable (no strict dress codes) but a lot of fun. And by fun I don't mean standing shoulder-to-shoulder waiting for overpriced drinks with popped-collar polo guys standing hopelessly still on a dance floor.

We're all in our 20s. Any recommendations? Thanks!

  1. ok so we did this a couple weekends ago and it turned out to be great! We went to the Comedy Studio at the Hong Kong restaurant in Harvard Square. You can reserve seats which is good for a big group. Since its on the top floor of the Hong Kong you can order chinese food while you see the comics and they have HUGE scorpion bowls. The comedy lasts for two hours (8-10PM) and after that it turns into a dance floor.  So you get the best of all worlds. Its not stuffy at all and the comedians we saw were super funny. Its different than the usual bar scene and its a totally unforgettable night. Plus it is on the cheaper side for a night out in Boston! Definitely order your tickets online though. Its $2 extra per ticket ($12) but so worth it. its the only way to get seats at an actual table or else you end up sitting in folding chairs along the wall.  ENJOY!

  2. You should hit up the new restaurant in the up and coming Fort Point Channel District...Persephone.  It has an awesome bar with cool cocktails and you can play Wii while you socialize.  It's great fun!

  3. Copley Square Area, Back Bay (most will be Shoulder to Shoulder) at some point.
