Hey everyone!

I'm looking to purchase a point and shoot camera for my upcoming Walt Disney World Vacation. I have been up to my neck with websites and information on different cameras.I just need a little more direction and advice from some of you who are better educated or have more experience when dealing with cameras. I have read in many places that Canon is the best bet in Camera and picture quality. But which one?

I really want one that takes very good quality pictures in both the daytime and the evening (especially because of all the night time shows and fireworks).

It will be mainly used for family group/solo shots. And pictures of scenery and my vacation in general. I would also like one that isn't too bulky or heavy. Mega pixels isn't too much of an issue because the picture will mostly be for normal size photo printing and email/ website use. I just really want something that will take great quality, colorful pictures that is reliable.

Thank you so much in advance.

  1. Canon powershots have good reputation for taking good pictures.  I have a sony 5mp cybershot point and shoot and have had nothing but great pictures come out of it.  Just make sure to buy a big memory card at least 1 meg.  That way you can take tons of pics, and through out the bad ones when you have time.

Nightshots are challenging, in order to get decent composures you are going to need to get a tri pod and slow the camera down.  More SLR type functions.  But the best thing to do would be to make your choice, then go and spend a day/evening taking random pictures of all different things to get really familiar w/your new camera, that way when you get to the magic kingdom, you don't miss the good shots messing around trying to figure out how to take a quick pic!

  2. I suggest the Fujifilm Finepix F31f because it has a high ISO which means better night shots. It's also got 6 megapixels so that's just perfect for 4x6 (normal) pictures when you print them. And it's also got face detection for your group and solo shots, so the faces will be nicely exposed.

  3. I would go for the Kodak C613, and the Lumix TZ5! They are some of the best ive seen! I currently own a kodak c613 and its the best point and shoot i have ever owned. The Lumix TZ5 is a new camera for me and it works good to especially with the 10x optical zoom!. But if you want a small camera, i would go for the kodak. The kodak is under 100$!
