We need a new vacuum for our pool. We had the Hayward vacuum, and hated it. It finally broke, so we are looking for a new one. Not looking to spend more than $250, so who has experience with other brands. The Hayward vacuum never seemed to make it to the shallow end of our pool, but did well on the walls. We have rocks around the outside of the pool, and the Hayward jams up easily with even the smallest rock.

  1. try a polaris although they are a bit pricey.you might fine them on line cheaper the one  thing polaris will not do is pick up dirit that is where your filteration  system starts pool company owner eleven years experince

  2. I am no fan of Hayward but their Navigator is the best vacuum side cleaner on the market.  Hayward bought Arnenson Pool Vac, creator of their cleaning product line.  Sounds like the hose length was not long enough if not cleaning the ends of the pool.  Most builders start up people do not install all the hose lengths.  There are 10 in the box and extra are available at pool supply houses.  They can be rebuilt too for around $250 or less.  Small rocks are tough on any cleaner to digest.
