What is a good price for the Canon 40D?

Would you say that about $1350 is pretty cheap?

That kit comes with the 17-85mm lens (a few hundred dollars on its own) which makes it a good deal.

I looked up US prices and converted them to AU $ and at Amazon.com you can get that camea for about $1008. Check with a local camera dealer and then start shopping on the net.

I would suggest not getting a kit lens, but instead buying the body alone, and then getting a much better lens since the kit lens isn't all that good. Neither one that the 40D is available with is all that good of a lens. The body alone is selling for about $960 right now.

This web site may be legit, but they are selling "gray market" cameras. This 40D is specified as being imported, and thus it does NOT come with a full manufacturers warranty. This could prove to be a problem  sometime down the road.They aren't a Canon authorized dealer either. You are best doing business only with an authorized dealer...
