What is a good program for editing videos on the computer?

i got a new camera and would like to put videos on youtube but i need a good editing system i would be able to download either for mac or pc

Hmmm good question there mate.

There are many good video editing programs such as Final Cut Pro, Pinnacle Studio, and I find Windows Movie Maker is pretty handy at times.

I use Adobe Premiere, its pretty good, complicated to use and expensive though.

If you want to download ones for free, look up some names and try downloading them on LimeWire. Theres usually full programs on there with a valid serial number that you can download for free. Just make sure the file size is realistic like 200+ Mb, otherwise its probably spyware or adware.

PCs are supplied with Windows Movie Maker, which is good enough to learn the basics.  Macs are supplied with iMovie, which is better.  Vegas Movie Studio is a good program for the PC.
