What is a good program to make home DVD movies from a DV Camcorder?

I want to keep the quality of the videos at its best performance.

When I used to use a PC, I used Windows Moviemaker, and that worked fine for me. However, I now have a mac, and I used imovie until I got final cut express. Any of these ones work great. If it is just home movies, I would recommend iMovie and Moviemaker. Final Cut Express is more complicated and more professional.

In case you don't know about the firewire connection, If you have a mini dv (cassette) camcorder….

Your dv camcorder needs a firewire connection (ieee 1394) in order to download video, your PC probably did not come with a firewire port, so you will have to buy one and install it, since most computers (except possibly brand new) don't come with a firewire port, your camcorder did not come with a firewire cord so you have to purchase a cord too. Your camcorder did come with a USB cord and that is used for downloading stills from your camcorder. Make sure your camera is in playback mode.

I enjoy Roxio which is fairly cheap but another good one is maybe Nero you can get more info on them at the website located on the source. I use them both they are both easy to work with!
