What is a good program to password protect my PC at boot up?

I've used TrueCrypt but don't like or need to encrypt large data files or drives. All I need/want is the ability to password protect my PC at boot where it's also protected against the usual work arounds like entering into Safe Mode, etc. Unless TrueCrypt can be configured to just password protect (I haven't figured out how), can you point me to a program that can?

  1. First off, you should pw your BIOS. Hit whatever key you need to at he start up to enter the BIOS. From there, you should find the options for passwording the BIOS and it may even have an option to pw the actual boot. From there, long into your OS as the admin and set a password for the admin account and your account if it doesn't have one. This should solve the password issue. Now the only way around this is to boot to a different source like a CD or thumb drive and if the boot is protected from the BIOS, some one is going to have a real hard time getting to your files.

  2. Lock the PC in a safe so only you can turn it on

  3. it is called bios go into bios setup password to stop your pc from loading at startup
