  1. Jig saw puzzles (big ones, not the tiny cardboard ones)

  2. Some fun things we do on rainy days are.

    1. I save the kids Easter eggs and baskets from Easter. I hide the eggs all over the house and have them find them.

    2. play with finger paints

    3. build a play house with sheets and blankets.

  3. Read to them, my mom did that with me and I now have comprehensive skills. They might have you read the same story over and over and over.

  4. my likes 2 red books

  5. Before Five in a Row is a book with a dozen story books used for about a dozen activities each.  It is about $25 dollars and then you can purchase the picture books for about $10 a piece and have them on hand.  Most of the picture books referenced are also in your local library (larger libraries sometimes have the Before Five in a Row book also).  You might also check into local story times at the library and often there are special story times at local bookstores.  Keep these days and times posted on the fridge so you can make a decision to go to Barns and Noble on Tuesday if it rains.

  6. *Have a snowball fight with newspapers

*make cookies and put the dough in big bags to moosh and squish

    *play with shaving cream

*play color of the day ei:wear red, eat red. paint red

*sink and float in the sink, use items around the house

*make roads on a big sheet of paper and drive some place they enjoy

once you start you will get more and more ideas!

  7. Have them do something like hop like a frog across the room and crawl like a tiger back, and so on. My kids love it and it helps them burn off energy.

  8. They could ...... play a board game, they could watch t.v(If they can l.o.l),or what I used to do was watch the rain.

    cool cat

  9. watch dora, she can speak spanish better then me

  10. Build them a fort of chairs, blankets, sheets for all their stuffed animals.  They can hide from you.

  11. feet painting- put large pieces of buthcher paper in the hallway, paint their feet and let them walk all over the paper.  Take lots of pictures of the experience- makes a good display afterwards

  12. fingerpaint & play-dough!

  13. sleep

  14. If it isn't thunder and lightning, you can decorate the bathroom with summery things, play beach music, use beach towels, and get on their swimsuits. Fill up the tub with cool water and let them "swim". Pretend you are at the pool. Pretend you are at the beach. You can help make "waves" by moving your hand back and forth in the water. If you have a jacuzzi tub that is big enough go for a swim too. Then when you are all dry and changed have a snack of something that you would have at the beach or something summery.

  15. rainy day activities that i do with my preschool class are: building a fort with sheets and chairs, finger painting, playdough, cooking the school lunch, reading in the reading corner with them.

  16. coloring would be good if they don't eat the crayons! Hide and seek.A movie if they sit still long enough. When my lil brother was little I used to build him a fort and then pretend we were camping out.

    Hope these ideas work!

  17. Finger Painting,,,with pudding! ( Color vanilla pudding)

Making things out of clay ( Flour and salt and water clay)

    London Bridge

Reading and acting out the pictures

making a costume out of newspaper or paper bags

Hide and go seek in the house

Put a large sheet over a table and play camping out

  18. Play dough can be made out of stuff most people have in their cupboards.

    1 cup flour

    1 cup warm water

    2 teaspoons cream of tartar

    1 teaspoon oil

    1/4 cup salt

    food coloring

Mix all ingredients, adding food coloring last. Stir over medium heat until smooth. Remove from pan and knead until blended smooth. Place in plastic bag or airtight container when cooled. Will last for a long time.

I have made it before without the cream of tartar because I didn't have any still worked fine.

If that doesn't work try colouring and drawing its always good to have new fridge decorations.
