We will be going on our honeymoon to Cedar Point Theme Park next July. We are looking for a nice resort like the Kalahari possibly to stay at... any suggestions?

  1. We stayed at the Sandcastle Suites at Cedar Point the night we got married. We were only there for one night because we got married in Sandusky. I love the Breakers because it is on the beach. Go for a Lake View room! Beautiful view. There are two outdoor pools, one very small indoor pool, and of course the beach right there. They offer packages that will include your tickets. Don't know if they do honeymoon specials, but it would be worth asking.

We have family in Sandusky and still stay at Breakers at least two nights every summer!

  2. Just to let you know, the above answerer doesn't know exactly what he is talking about, only about 1/2 of what he said is true.  Sandusky is a nice, small town (it gets bigger each year), but it does have it's bad parts of town (like any other town), none of which you will probably get into while on your honeymoon.  Another note, there isn't much to do in Sandusky other than Cedar Point, so if you are planning a 4-day honeymoon, you may run out of things to do (the Lake Erie Islands aren't that far away and could also be a nice spot to visit as well), but I'm sure you have other things to "do".  Some nice hotels for a honeymoon would be Kalahari Resort, Great Wolf Lodge, Castaway Bay, and Sawmill Creek (in Huron, OH which is 10 minutes away).  All of these places I think have honeymoon packages to make your honeymoon romantic and enjoyable.  Congratulations in advance and have fun!

  3. Sandusky, Ohio is a dump. Cedar Point is it's only saving grace. Once  you leave the peninsula, lock your car, because it's not a very nice place. But, anyway if you want to stay on one of Cedar Point's on-site resorts, I recommend The Breakers hotel just for the benefits and the rooms are a little nicer than the others. But, like you said, you are going on your honeymoon, so if you want to, ahem, "Get it on", I would recommend staying at the Lighthouse Point, because they are more like cabins than hotel rooms.

  4. Kalahari and Great Wolf Lodge are in the area.

Cedar Point has Hotel Breakers, Lighthouse point Cabins, and If you have a camper, Camper Village.
