My husband and I are trying to figure out where to go for our anniversary dinner. We want an intimate place with good food that is not TOO loud on a Fri or Sat night. We are looking at spending no more than $100 for the dinner. We also don't want any locations that are too formal requiring us to dress up too much. lol We want to be comfortable and not in a dress and suit/tie. Any suggestions?

  1. Maggiano's is pretty good. You can get an appitizer dinner and share a bottle of wine for less than $100. There is no real dress code but if you want to beat the crowd make a reservation that is not between 7:00 and 8:45.

Fridays are less crowded than Saturdays.

  2. My husband and I love Hugo's on Westheimer. It's very nice and quiet on the inside with huge windows next to the tables to watch people walk by. It also has a lovely little fenced-in patio area with lights in the trees and ivy on the walls.

The Mexican menu features unique dishes done in a way that foodies can really enjoy -- the carnitas are amazing! You could also afford an appetizer, two entrees, and drinks for under $100.

  3. The Cheesecake Factory! You would find a great anniversary dessert there!

  4. Sambuca

  5. wow that is a hard one, considering the location and the days. O_o

ruth's chris is a really nice restaurant and it has a very nice ambiance to it.

  6. I love Mark's on Westheimer for an anniversary dinner. It is very romantic but pricey. For $100 you could get two entrees and one dessert. No wine or appetizers.

I also like The Capital Grill on Westheimer just west of the Galleria. Without wine you could share one appetizer, order a  large steak like the Delmonico to share, two side dishes, and one dessert for around $100.

If you like ethnic food The Bombay Brasserie (Indian) in the village or on the loop just north of Richmond is good. I think you could order a sampling of dishes and a modest bottle of wine for $100.

Fogo as the other poster mentioned is good. It is about $50 a person w/o wine. It is very meat intensive. They bring around skewers of meat and slice what you would like onto your plate. The side dishes are self serve from a buffet. I would rather be served and have smaller portions myself on a romantic occasion.

Crapitto's Italian just west of highland village tucked away on mid lane is romantic and should work with your budget.

My Husband does not wear a tie. If we go out he wears khakis and a polo shirt. I usually wear dress or nice pants and top. We have been to all of these restaurants in the attire I described and felt comfortable.

  7. Brenner's on the Bayou

    1 Birdsall St.

It is a steakhouse located near Memorial Park with a view of the Buffalo Bayou.  The inside has the look of an old hunting lodge.  We went on our anniversary and timed our reservations for near sunset.  As the sun set the whole place was bathed in a soft light through the trees and sparkling off the bayou.  It was a beautiful sight.  Our steaks were cooked perfectly and the sides are large enough to share.  It was very intimate with a low noise level.  You are not required to wear a tie.

  8. My husband and I wen to Fogo de Chao for our anniversary. It is not too formal and the food is great. Also it is in your price range, and it is right down Westheimer.

  9. I would go to Maggiano's in the Galleria area it is on Post Oak near Westheimer Another good idea is Sunday brunch at Brennan's near DT. Both are wonderful and I am sure will leave you with wonderful memories.

  10. I would go to Fogo de Chao, although it'll be a little over $100. You don't need a tie (dress neatly and somewhat conservatively) and the food is excellent. It is a meat-lover's paradise!

  11. fogo de chao!!

its delicious! and a great choice

  12. Ruth's Chris Steakhouse has a special going on right now---$89 for a 3 course dinner for 2 people.  (You and your guest can each enjoy a soup or salad, entrée,

and side plus a shared dessert for $89.)

    Check it out!
