I usually make big Sunday dinners. This sunday i will make maple BBQ ribs, mashed garlic red potato and corn bread. I was thinking of a salad or greens to go with it.

  1. Make potato salad or macaroni salad. No greens. Just eat until you fall asleep.

  2. Arugula Salad :

    This one is great...

This one is fantastic... but a little complicated...

    Enjoy!

  3. This is a great salad, that will cut through the heaviness of the rest of the meal:

    ORANGE BALSAMIC SALAD

    Mixed baby salad greens

Carmelized sliced almonds (stirfry in sugar until sugar melts & coats nuts)..

    1 can drained mandarin oranges

    thinly sliced onion

Toss with a good quality Balsamic Vignarette dressing......

An adaptation of this that's really good is RASPBERRY SPINACH SALAD:   Use a big bag of baby spinach;  carmelize either chunky-chopped pecans or walnuts; use fresh raspberries or sliced strawberries - Use either bottle Raspberry-Walnut or Raspberry-Pecan Vignarette dressing......

  4. ribs are already heavy as it is.  Try a light salad such as mixed greens, or baby spinach, or even a mix,    Romaine is also good and if you like arugula, that's good too.   Top it with peppers, cucumbers, mushrooms, tomatoes and balsamic vinegars.

  5. My personal favourites are pasta salad and also Caesar Salad. They're very simple but tasty. Here's a simple pasta salad recipe I use myself. This recipes serves 2 (my husband and me) but you can always double it if you are cooking for more people.

    1 cup raw macaroni shells

    2-3 tablespoons mayonaise

    5 baby carrots, grated

1/2 green bell pepper, sliced and diced (You can also throw in red, orange and yellow bell peppers.)

    1 tsp sweet relish

    salt and pepper to taste

    1/4 cup of milk

Optional: 1 tsp of sweet corn relish and a squirt of prepared mustard

    Boil pasta and mix ingredients!

Caesar Salad is pretty straight forward.

    Romaine lettuce

    caesar dressing

    mozzerella cheese and/or permesan cheese

    flavoured croutons

    Enjoy!

  6. macaroni salad

  7. since  your choice are already heavy food you can make a mesclun salad with some cherry tomatoes  and  dresse up  with extra virgin olive oil and touch of balsamic vinegar. What a very good dinner . you made me hungry

  8. Cole Slaw is always a favorite with BBQ ribs.  I like the crunchy veggie combination with ribs, sounds like a fantastic meal.  I have 2 different kinds of recipes, one is an asian style slaw and one is a blue cheese slaw.  You can find them at:

  9. Cole slaw would probably be very good with ribs. I've never tried the combination, but I LOVE cole slaw with BBQ pork or chicken.

  10. I think Greek Salad would taste wonderful with what your making.

Or you could make steamed asparagus with it.
