  1. Arguments of this type are always philosophical /religious. Valuing a human life  based on religious tenets , etc ...are not a basis for scientific argument.Scientific "arguments" deal with interpretation of data and hypotheses , etc .. I do not believe the assignment is  a valid structure for  scientific "argument"

  2. Some opponents of the research argue that this practice is a slippery slope to reproductive cloning and fundamentally devalues the worth of a human being.

  3. You're not really looking for a scientific argument for/against stem cells, you're looking for a philosophical argument for/against stem cells. Scientifically, there's no reason to not go forward with the research. Practically, the only reason to not go through with the procedures is that it's not proven in the long term. It's the philosophical side of things that get you in trouble.

Slippery slope arguments point towards human cloning, but what makes human cloning bad? Why is it objectionable? It's a philosophical argument, not a scientific one.

  4. There would not be any scientific arguments against stem cell research.  That's illogical.

  5. There are NO scientific arguments against using stem cells. The only arguments against would be either religious, superstitious or uninformed arguments.

  6. There's no point in arguing either for or against stem cells.  They exist regardless of any arguments.  I don't think that can actually be the assignment.  At least, I hope it isn't.
