  1. It depends on your own preferences, really. I'm happy with anything above a 2000 for myself, with at least a 700 in the Critical Reading and Writing sections each (I'm generally much better with languages than I am in math, so I expect my SAT scores to reflect that). The first answerer says that a "good good" score is 2200 - but I think that a 2200 or above is more than good, it's excellent. One of my best friends is happy with his score; it's around 1800. Another friend is happy with her score, which is around 1600.

If this has any merit for you - I think the average score is around 1600.

So, anyways - it's all personal preference. If you're happy with your score, then it's a good score. =)

  2. I'm happy with anything above a 2100. A GOOD GOOD score is anything above 2200

  3. In response to what the other poster said, 1600 is an average score...slightly above it, but not by much. It really depends on what you're hoping for and what is "good" for you.

If youre going for a top tier school, you need a score that is above 2200.

If youre going for a good state university or something equivalent, you need about a 1900-2000.

If youre going for a "non-selective" school, you could probably get in with around a 1700.

If you're going for a school that doesnt use SAT in its decision, then you dont need it :)

    Hope that helps.
