What is a good second (intermediate-expert) guitar?

My uncle gave me his old sammy electric guitar as a first guitar and im getting better and i want something new what is a good second guitar for me.

Obviously you want something better than what your uncle gave you. Depending on the type of music you play should determine the guitar you need to get. If you are into Rock, Punk, Metal and stuff like this you can't go wrong with Gibson, ESP, Jackson and Ibanez. I'm not a fan of Ibanez unless its super expensive. If you are into stuff like the Eagles, Eric Clapton, and Jimi Hendrix then Fender is the way to go. Also you probably want to get something that is in the $300-$500 range if you can. Look at Fenders they have really good guitars.

I am also looking into getting a second guitar. I am looking at something like a new Fender or a Gibson, because I am into Classic Rock.

But, since you are looking a Metal Guitar, BC Rich make good metal guitars or Ibanez.

I'm an intermediate player looking for a better guitar to. I'm getting the Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus Top (http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/produ... I would recommend going to a guitar shop and trying out different guitars until you find one you like.
