  1. Limewire is free, if you get the free version (duh). You must have clicked on the expensive version. Anyway, you can also try SpiralFrog. That works good too, and it's completely free as far as I can tell. It should be easy to find a lot of others if you just use Google and do a little research.

    Hope this helped. Good luck!

  2. Actually, Limewire doesn't cost money to download, and there is no signing up.  If you choose the "basic" version, this one is free.  However, Limewire isn't a "free site".  It is a downloader, bit-torrent, for peer-to-peer file sharing.  So, copywright infringement takes place when you download a song from someone else.  With that said, a free, legal site to download music from is music.download.com.  There, everything is completely free with  no sign up or fees.  If you are looking for other bit torrent downloaders, here are a few:

    1. Limewire

    2. Frostwire

    3. uTorrent

    4. Fuze (formerly known as Azureas)

All of these are available at http://www.download.com

  3. limewire actually doesn't require a cost to sign up...you have to download the basic version. There's also frostwire, which is virtually the same thing....just different colors. That one is free too.
