I've never played poker for real money on-line, and am worried about possibly getting scammed or getting my account information stolen. I know of many sites (partypoker, fulltiltpoker, pokerstars, and a few more) but I don't know which site is the safest and most secure as far as playing with real money and giving up information from my account. If you could help me out, I'd really appreciate it!

  1. You can play poker legally on http://www.spadeclub.com. It is sponsored by cardplayer magazine and if you use the code ACESFULL you can get a two week free trial. It pays real cash prizes when you win. They base it on sweepstakes laws.

You can also play blackjack and poker at http://www.clububt.com, it will show you the prizes that you can play for. It does cost $20 month to join. If you register and enter this code WEC97XUK, it will give you two free weeks on their site. I have a paid membership there and I've won real cash there and they do pay.

Both sites are legal to play at in the USA.

  2. I use absolutepoker.com, and i have friends that use it and have 10k + dollars on the site and we have had no problems

  3. I suggest you fulltilt which you can find a full review of at http://www.bettingwise.com/fulltiltpoker...

It is one of the best poker sites and it accepts americans.

You can deposit with Echeck or visa gift card. This are the best deposit methods for americans

  4. Ok...  i have used pokerstars and fulltilt.    Both are safe sites to use and your account information wont get stolen from these two.  However, as others have pointed out.  pokerstars seems to always have interesting hands and bets.  As you may know, the site takes money from each hand that is played (rake), and the more money in the pot means more money for the site.  On pokerstars is seems like the hands are rigged a little bit to make people bet more and so the site gets more money.  An example,  lets say you need a 6 for a straight, and another guy needs a clu for a flush.  More often than not, the 6 of clubs will come out so that you both bet more.  I have currently stopped playing pokerstars because of this.  I have recently started playing fultilt and am so far please.  I haven't come across as many of those types of hands.  Im sure they might be rigged also.  But i havent found anything crazy like I had seen on pokerstars...

I hope this helps.  I would go for Fulltilt.

(Whatever you do dont make your decision on how you do playing for fake chips...they make everyone win on those games)

  5. Fulltilt, I think they rig it less than other sites.

What I mean by rig is that poker sites like to set up big hands for players so that they will engage in big pots more quickly and therefore more money for the site.

  6. Here's a safe list I found.

But I would say Full Tilt, Poker Stars, Bodoglife are among the safe names that have not had any scandals attached to them.

Full Tilt and Stars have more famous poker players than pretty much any site.  I've used them both since 2003 and never had a problem with them.  I've known players who play at fairly high stakes, and they have not had problems.

If I were starting out, I would try Stars and Tilt for play money and then when I decided which one I liked, I'd make a deposit.

You mentioned Party Poker in your question.  This was closed to US players a couple of years back.

If you are worried about providing your bank information, you could always buy a Visa gift card and use that to make a deposit.  I just got one free from my bank (credit card points) and it worked just fine.

If you do it that way, you are not giving them any information about any account that would be a problem.  And you can just have them mail you a check when you want to withdraw.

But again, I have friends who have over $10K in their accounts, and they have not had any problems with these sites.
