What is a good small car for a beginner driver?

I need a car that could possibly be around $6,000 exactly or under $6,000. I am a sophomore in high school and getting my first car. What I mean by small is something like the Ford Focus. Any suggestions?

Young drivers usually have much higher rates than others. And it depends from car.

check with car dealership they will have a warranty-with that much down they will finance in order for you to get in something newer and establish credit too

They have good quality cars for little. Take note, most of them are used, but carmax fixes them up if something is the matter with them, so they are perfect for you! Not to mention safe! Oh, and I suggest a car with good gas rates! They will tell how much they run on a gallon! They have some for under $6,000! Anyways, good luck!

Try the websites like ford and honda but if you can only pay about $6000 it will more than likely be used so be careful, you should take someone that knows about cars with you too so you don't get scammed.  My first car was a chevy cavalier and it was definitely small enough but had no air conditioning so make sure you get that!! 98 Acura CL, 98 Ford Mustang V6, 98 Honda Accord or Civic, 98 Subaru Impreza or Legacy, 98 -00 Toyota Corolla or Echo 00

these are all reliable and will last longer than other cars in this price range.

The Hyundai Accent is a small car.  My husband has had his for over 5 years and we've had no major problems with it.  Good luck.

maybe a small honda,

my first car is a Mercedes 1992 [Model : 190e] Its a nice car. and a good gas saver upset it only likes premium gas. -_-.

My suggestions is to get a 4 cylinder honda.

Any 4 cylinder vehicle should be good for starters.
