What is a good small company to buy stocks from?

my son is getting a stcok account in 5 yeaRS AND I AM WONDERING what is a good small company to invest in? if you dont know then can you provide a website that shows a list of new companies i want to be able to view their product info

  1. Any company with a good track record. I would steer clear of cyclical companies such as retailers and housebuilders, particularly at the moment.

    I like firms such as supermarkets, insurance providers, etc. these tend to do well even during recessions and economic downturns. Also any company that is branching out into the new 'emerging' markets such as Asia and South America, would likely to generate good future returns, due to the fast expanding economy and growing middle classes of that region.

    I also like new technologies, although this is quite niche and higher risk. For example, renewable energy companies such as solar technology and wind generation would likely offer good returns in the future due to high oil prices and the issues of climate change.

    Banking stocks are also quite cheap at the moment.

    Euro tunnel is changing company name they have wiped out a lot of the huge cost in building it. There future looks great check them out.

    Asian Citrus Holdings is a solid company that at the moment fruit juice in china is a luxury item wait 5 years as there standard of living rises it will be for the working class that is a lot of people.

  4. If you're looking to invest 5 years out, today's information would not be much help for you.   But you can learn and prepare yourself for future investing.

  6. Today's information won't help you much in 5 years. Plus everything in the stock market is down right now. The market will be doing AMAZING in 5 years though.
