  1. I was going to say lego...

Well, all kids love food, so cut up fruit and cheese and veggies into little pieces and put them on a plate with a bowl of dip.  While you are eating, talk about the different food groups the come from, what they are called, how they are made, etc. etc...

For parts of the body try printing off some ears, eyes, noses, knees, hands, etc...and have the kids color them in.  Roll some tape onto the back (or better yet, make little rolls of tape and have the kids put them on the back) and either let them build a person on the wall, or let them stick the bits all over you (or themselves) where they are supposed to go as you call out things like, "I use this to smell yummy snacks and stinky socks".  Kids love coloring, tape, stinky socks and sticking things to people...so they'll be learning and they won't even realize it...which is the best way to go about it really.

  2. Bean Bags!

You can make them yourself or buy little animals (I have seen bags of beanies as low as one dollar)

Make up a silly song or just ask your class to place the bean bag on the head, toes, shoulders, nose... challenge them by asking to balance on the tips of the fingers or the inner part of the foot. (it is great for balance too).

For nutrition, get samples of good and bad foods and do an scavenger hunt around the classroom/playground.

    best of luck

  3. As for me biking is for 3 years old, swimming for 4 years old and dancing too, martial arts for 5 years old especially if hs a boy

  4. On a cognitive level, collect various foods such as fruits and veggies. Get yourself a small cardboard box closed on all sides. Cut a hole on one side of box large enough for a small arm to pass through. Place a given food in the box. Without peeking, have the child reach in, touch, feel and guess the name of the food. There are endless amounts of materials you could use. A good project for follow up discussions also.

  5. Hi, You could draw or print out a picture of a body and cut it into jigsaw pieces which the kids need to put back together.

You could also go to dltk (see link below) and print out bingo cards and play the game. I did this with a kindergarten class and the kids loved it!

Also  first-school (see link below) has some crafts about Health and Nutrition.

Another idea is to have a basic body shape and have the kids glue on eyes, mouth, feet, hands, etc.

  6. Spreading Jam or cream cheese on toast

Finger play songs like where is thumbkin

modeling body parts from clay or play dough

cutting out pictures of food from magazines, then paste on paper in two columns, healthy or unhealthy.

  7. Make necklaces out of Cheerios. Get shoelaces with the plastic tips on them or it will be too difficult. You can also use dry pasta shapes and pipe cleaners.

  8. String fruit loops.  The older two can make patterns with the loops.  Have children make a snack of bananas and crushed graham crackers.  Children use their fist, elbow, fingers, wrist etc. to smash the grahams in a baggie.  Call out a body part. Then the use a butter knife and cut up their banana.  Put the banana in the baggie with the grahams.  Now stand up and shake the baggie.  You can have the children bend their knees and shake, over your head, by your ribs, etc. I use the technical names for the body parts like cranium, clavicle, phalanges....  The children love it.  They really remember it too.  They know they sound smart.

  9. Get some letters with tape on the back of them , then you show the kids letters and they guess where each letter goes in the "ABC"s
