It depends more on what the style of the video is like. Is the skating aggresive, or are you focusing on skateboardins fluidity? This is really more an editing question than skateboarding one, but simply go what feels best to you. If you think it reflects the film and what it means specifically to you, the go with that.

I'm sure you already know this but if the film is going to be effective and get lots of views, you will need to create drama, and grab attention.

(I don't know if the skater is you) but if your showing a montage of big air flip tricks, or lots of clips were the subject lands hard or even falls, the music should aligne itself with the way the audiance is feeling - probably pumped with adrenaline, or excited in there passion to go out and do the same.
