What is a good song for an American Dream Project?

I need a song for a project at school in Junior High and I need a good song about life, or growing up, etc.

I really like the song, I Was Here by Lady Antebellum, but I want one sung by a band or a male.

Any ideas?

Theres "When I Grow Up (To Be A Man)" - The Beach Boys but that may be a little too cheesy and you might not be a guy.

"The Long and Winding Road" - Beatles - Really I guess you can use it to use it for growing up.  It's also a little cheesy but its a little more serious than the Beach Boys one.  I never really interpreted that song but you can interpret it to mean the Long and Winding Road of life.  

Theres also a alternative rock "Life of a Salesman" By Yellowcard, but it will really only work if you were a guy. Seeing how its about fathers and growing up to be like them.

"Life is Beautiful" by vega4 is a great choice!
