What is a good song to song?

Question

for a cruiseship audition?

a ballad or an upbeat? with backing music

what are they looking for acting? great voice, or a performance?

please help i desperately want to work on a cruise

I know it sounds really corny but how about "My Heart will Go on". I know that it is from Titanic and we all know what happens to that ship, but the song might just work!

First of all, read the audition packet/instructions very carefully and see if there are any clues as to what they are looking for.  Next, you want to show off your voice, so choose something you know well, is in your range, shows some emotion and energy, and would entertain an audience.  If you are allowed to do 2 songs, try to choose 2 that show different sides of your performing self, for example- happy in love and regret over loss, or happy optimism and a broken heart.

Id have thought somethng a bit upbeat, remember your meant to be entertaining, but if they let you sing 2 songs do 1 of each to show you are versatile.. Good Luck!
