  1. I also like "The Discovery of Aspie Criteria." It's a great article!

    I also like these websites:

    http://www.autisticadvocacy.org/

    http://autastics.org/

    AspieMama

~A Blog for Parents with Asperger's~

    http://aspiemama.blogspot.com/

  2. basic place (but don't be scared by the seriousness of it--it will help you when you need to know what helps school go better, etc.): www.wrightslaw.com

then depending on  age, go to yahoogroups--there is even a middle school group for parents or family members of middle school kids.

and don't forget youtube! sounds crazy but I learned a lot from short videos made by people with aspergers, esp. one from a 15 yr. old boy.

also, look at archived questions on this site--a lot of helpful stuff there. what helped me the most in another way was contact with others affected--I went to SEPTA meetings, which can be visited and are help in school libraries or library meeting rooms. It's a group that has speakers and help understanding all kinds of things, including addvocating and helpful approaches. there will be people there who will be glad to speak to you if you live in an area  with something like this. I also heard of parent-to-parent website (org? haven't tried it yet) good luck. and don't be scared--there are different types of aspergers in that it presents differently in difft. people sometimes, and difft. degrees of functioning.
