I know how to ride a bicycle but I was wondering what would be a good and sturdy starter bicycle for everyday bicycling within a reasonable price range. Thank you !

  1. Giant Bikes have really great bikes at such an affordable price. They still have the good quality their high end bikes have, just with cheaper components. They have starter bikes for any discipline(road, mountain bike, bmx, or just comfort bikes.)

  2. Raleigh Mojave 4.0 is around $350.00 and is a great mountain bike with very good components.

  3. What is your price range ?

What kind if bike are you looking for ?

  4. Well a good brand is a lower end Apollo (http://www.apollobikes.com/) as they are of good build quality and just under 500 australian dollars.  Another good brand would be Norco (http://www.norco.com/) also in the low end but still good value for money.  If you upsize your budget you could probably get a bike with more features to make for more comftable ride.  If you do just upsize then a mongoose would be the best idea.

  5. I don't have much experience, but I just got my first road bike and I found a barely used specialized allez triple (2007) for $550 and I am enjoying it very much.  I went and talked to my local bike shop and if I was going to buy a new bike I would have gone w/ a Shwinn Le Tour (which was on sale for approx $450) or a Newest 2.0 or 3.0 (I think).  Those were recommended as good starter bikes in my price range which was less than $600.  I hope that helped!
