  1. I have had fish for years and I have learned a lot.  I would suggest that you buy some fish like guppies, or zebra danios (also known as zebra fish).  Both are small peaceful fish that are very hardy.  If you get guppies, unless you plan on buy a few more tanks and spending LOTS of money I would suggest that you buy only one gender (most likely males because they are more colorful). Why? Trust me, females have up to 200 babies and can hold enough sperm to have 8 batches of fry.  Zebra fish are peaceful SCHOOLING fish so they do best in groups of 5 or more. Have you ever heard of the 1 inch rule? 1 inch of fish per gallon. 1 zebra danio is 2 inches when it is fully grown so it needs 2 gallons of space. 3 zebras need 6 gallons.  You could have about 5-6 zebra danios, or 5-9 guppies. Stay away from gold fish and suckers.  Remember that you need to cycle your aquarium be for you add fish.  For info on this, guppies and zebra danios see the links below.

    Hope I helped!!!!

  2. You Need To Start With A Gold Fish They R Not Hard To Take Care Of And They Live Like For Ever!!!!! I Have A Gold Fish & He Is 5 Years Old & Is Still Living!!!!

Please Watch It's Only 12 Sec.!!!!!!!!!

  3. Purana!! They're mean though, be careful!

  4. In my opinion, most tetra species are easy to care for.  I would stay away from neon tetras though.  If you like their color, try cardinal tetras a little hardier and look a lot the same.  Some other tetra species that I like are pristilla (very hardy - I have a school of them), rosy tetras, bleeding heart tetras (these get larger than the other suggestions though), diamond tetras are very pretty, imo.  You could also try corydory (forget the spelling).  There are several varieties of these also.  Make sure with the tetras and the corys, you have at least 5 of the same type so they can form a school.  Since you have a 10 gallon - I would only start out with a few fish and gradually add fish to it every few weeks.  I was going to add a dwarf gourami on the list, since they don't need others of their kind and are top dwelling, but I have had really bad luck with trying to keep them.  Google tetra varieties and see which catch your eye.

  5. Well guppies are good beginner fish since when ever something goes wrong they'll survive because they are very hardy fish but you might wanna get only males since females can have lots of babies so just get 10 beautiful male guppies and call it a day.

PS. Goldfish are not good beginner fish or suckerfish since they grow to a foot long or more and will certainly out grow a 10 gallon

  6. you would think goldfish wouldn't you?

    wrong.

as much as i love goldfish and hope i always have them they're very hard to look after if you do it properly.

you need to do water changes every week

20 gallons of water per fish

    strong filter

    they get ill easily

    eat loads

    p**p ridiculous amounts

but they have amazing personalities, i would suggest 1 male betta or 2 female bettas for you?

goldfish are a big respsibilty, have you got the next 20 years of your life to look after it?

    =]

  7. betta or guppies

  8. i its cold water get

    6 white cloud mountain minnows

    dont get goldfish

  9. about 5/7 goldfish and 2 sucker fish.

  10. ok, NO GOLDFISH! They need large filters that are expensive, and 10 gallons per fish. If that is fancy goldfish, for common or comet goldfish you need 50 gallons every 2 fish! NO GOLDFISH!

    For a 10 gallon tank...

3-5 long finned or just regular zebra danios

3-5 cory cats of any color

and a dwarf gourami. Then your tank will be stocked with a good amount of fish, not be overstocked or understocked. Also, all the levels of your fish tank will be covered.=)

  11. Any of the small danios like the zebra, leopard, gold, etc.

They're very active and easy to care for, and tolerate cooler water than most tropicals.
