I am not a very good short term trader.  I have done fairly well,however, by buying undervalued, quality companies when they are not in fashion.

I would look at companies with great cash flows, pay you dividends and are trading at single digit P/E's.

There are a couple of sectors right now that meet these metrics.

Financials and Oils have been beaten up and are very attractive from a historical level.  Below are some tickers.  Do your own research and know why that you own any stock.  Good Luck

There are too many goods stocks available on the market very cheap. This is the time you have to buy stocks and build a portfolio. I would suggest you to invest longterm because the market is still volatile. It may go down occasionally but the time for bulls are coming.

Ebix(EBIX) and research inmotion limited(RIMM) both to tech companies that are posting record years. Both can adapt to almost any market and are posting incredible numbers. EBIX is reported to go into a 3 for 1 trade on august 14. which means if you act now you could see your shares in the company triple, making the stock price then most likely be anywhere around 30 - 40 points/dollars. making the price severily underpriced and you could see that climb back up to around 100 in 3-8 months. so my bet would be to buy ebix now before it splits.
