What is a good store to buy Red Eared Sliders?

What is a good store for me to buy a Red Eared Slider? I heard PetCo and Petsmart are not good places. Is there anybody who bought a turtle there who could either confirm that or agree that it's not a good place to buy?

almost all of the aquarium supply stores and fish stores around my house sell Red-Eared sliders and painted turtles. I find that specialty stores generally take better care of their animals than general pet stores or chain stores. Make sure to visit places that sell RES including petco/petsmart to see the condition of the animals for yourself.
