Just learned how to ride. Less than 4 hours of experience over the last 15 years.

  1. no disrespect for 250 riders eventhough the 08 ninja 250 looks hot for the little punch it has. I have been riding for only a year and I have a ninja 500. It is easy to manuver and still has a little punch so even once you get a little experience under your belt you can still have fun with this bike when you are ready to push it a little.

  3. Small 125 of 250cc class and a standard style, not a sport bike

  4. Something small but not too small, a shadow 600 is a good beginners bike, or a rebel 250, but the rebel is too small for some people. Take the MSF course if you haven't theywill supply a  small bike and see if you like it. Lot's of people are getting hurt lately because everyone wants to ride but people don't want to take the course and learn the right way of doing things.

  5. Kawasaki Ninja 250 is the old standby of learning how to ride motorcycles.  Cheap, great gas mileage, and once you are done it can easily be resold for almost the same price to another person learning how to ride.

  6. I like the 250cc VStar, as well. Its a great bike for someone with 4 hrs experience  and it  will get down the road pretty well, too.

After putting tons of miles on a 1500cc cruiser, I still haven't outgrown my trusty VLX but my conscience wouldn't let me lend  it to someone with 4 hrs experience, if you catch my drift.

  7. depends on factors such as height weight and if you pump iron or just plain strong

i am a "rookie" as well and i am riding a 08 night rod special (1250cc).... i jumped on the sporties and dynas and i felt more comfortable on this one
