1. Go to Michael's crafts, they will have soy wax and also

kits for making gel candles. Aloe vera is for putting on

    sunburns, not for making candles!

  2. Is this for making candles, or some other use? What is it you want a recipe for? If you don't ask the question properly, you can't expect helpful answers.

  3. You can't substitute aloe vera for candle wax....and candle making isn't really easy and can be very messy. You can make your own lotions, though, is that more what you had in mind? I can't help you with that - I'm a candlemaker. But I can tell you that you need some kind of wax, be it soy, palm, bee's, paraffin, etc. for a candle. Oh, a fun and somewhat easy thing you could do is purchase some granulated wax from a craft store and make one that way. It's the same concept as like a sand sculpture, but when you're done, you put a wick in the middle. I bet your mom would like that. Good luck with whatever you decide!
