  1. The ALL NATURAL supplement (derived by food) that I recommend for enhancement is:

Ionix Supreme.  It 's exactly what you're looking for.  Also, Electrolyte Replacement for swimmers is something that might interest you too. Check out activeswim.com for additional information and purchase.

activeswim.com will give additional details, as well as, a link to purchase and/or to ask questions.  Good Luck and practice, practice, practice and more practice for much needed improvement.  Don't forget breathing exercises.

  2. Assuming you're not dehydrated, there is NOTHING you can take before a race that will improve your performance for any distance in a normal dual meet.   And, anyone who tells you differently is full of garbage.

Anyone who tells you differently knows nothing about energy supplies in your body including ATP, CP, and glucose.  Nor do they know how those substances are utilized during exercise.

Improved times come from proper swim practice, adequate warm-up, and race strategy.

IF your events take 30 minutes or more, carbohydrate loading MIGHT improve your performance slightly.  If you do long distance open water races like a 5K or 10K, then quick energy foods will help.  But, since all "pool" races take 18 minutes or less, there is NO SUPPLEMENT you can consume that will improve your performance.

By the way ... your times are nothing to shout about as a 59 for 100m (and you only go 1:03) would not win a high school dual meet.  With such slow times you need to work on proper stroke technique and put in 1000s of kilometers of hard work with good stroke to improve.

  3. I know what you mean... what i used were the energy gels that power bar sells, i would use them right before i would swim the 500 Free, it gave me a boost of energy especially the ones that had caffeine in them, for me they took about 5 minutes to hit the bloodstream... and you know when its working because you feel a little uncontrollably hyper.... if you dont want to take something like that i suggest taking a multi-vitamin and a vitamin B6 tablet before your meet, it will give you the energy that your body needs (its a more natural approach) hope it helps and good luck with dropping your times (getting a :59 is easier then you think)

  4. dont take anything. anything that isnt natural. eat a lot of carbs the night before. i suggest pasta.

  5. gatorade or water?

  6. Before I swam, I never took any supplement pills, but my coach always had me eat a good amount of applesauce before i started

  7. training and good luck will help you. nothing else can really affect the performance of the swim. sugar and getting hyped up helps though.

  8. PRACTICE!! i swim that and im a girl. you dont need a supliment when you clearly are not a top competator. you need to practice, the good old fashoned way.
