Question:

What is a good surge protector for electronics (non-cpu)?

I purchased my first LCD tv (46" Samsung), and I have some OK surge protectors that I've had for years, but I'd like to have some more outlets and something a little more heavy duty. I play on hooking up the tv, xbox, wii, and a surround sound system (in the future).

Is this Tripp-lite surge a good choice?

I appreciate the input.

  1. Dude, you have to get a MONSTER home theater power center.  They are about 80 dollars and they are more than worth every penny.  It will keep ALL of your electronics that you said you are hooking up safe and protected completely.  Think about all the money you have invested in the electronics you are connecting up!  Definitely go with a Monster Cable Home Theatre PowerCenter HT800.  I have one myself and it's amazing!  It also sends complete full power to all of your devices to provide optium performance and help your devices to last a long, long time!  Good luck!

  2. Yes that will work, but I would recommend one that also protects your cable inputs.  That one on the link yo sent is really meant for a computer and network protection.

Here is one that is designed for home theater:
