Question:

What is a good temporary job?

I'm currently studying film (3rd year) and will look into getting a position as a runner ASAP when I'm finished, but for now I need a job to bring in enough money for basics like bills and food. I've been working in a kitchen in a hotel for about a year and worked in another kitchen before that and really just want to do something other than service for a while.

Any suggestions for a part-time job that requires nothing more than for the candidate to impress the employer with a good work ethic and basic computer skills, without the need for previous experience in said field of work or qualifications relating to it? (I should note, I have a BTEC in Multimedia Studies which might open my options up a little more)

  1. Look up 'employment agencies' in the yellow pages and send your resume off asking for temp work!  Sometimes really interesting stuff comes up.  Once I drove around dropping off brochures to real estate companies,  once I worked for a department store have a sale, and lots of data entry work.

  2. Retail is always easy.
